Group Visits

Mount Auburn welcomes hundreds of groups each year, including garden clubs, historical societies, bird watching groups, and conservation organizations. We are happy to accommodate groups of all ages and interests.
As with all visitors, we ask that groups help us to preserve the tranquility of this special space by observing our Hours and Policies.
Self-Guided Visits
Groups planning a self-guided Cemetery visit are welcome during our normal hours of operation. However, we ask that all large groups register with us a minimum of two weeks in advance of their intended arrival. There is no fee for a self-guided visit.
Guided Visits
The Friends of Mount Auburn offers guided tours for groups on a wide range of subjects including history, art, architecture, conservation, horticulture, and history. Tours typically last 90 minutes and are led by a Cemetery staff member or one of our highly trained volunteer docents. Fees vary depending on the size of the group, day of the week, and time of day.
School Visits
We welcome students of all grade levels. Mount Auburn is the perfect outdoor classroom for such diverse subjects as natural history, ecology, history, and art. Educators are welcome to visit with their students as a self-guided group or can arrange a guided tour with one of our staff or volunteer guides.
Contact us at friends@mountauburn.org if you’d like to discuss possible field trip itineraries or simply complete our Group Tours form.
