Beginning in the mid-19th century, Victorian symbolism and ornamentation adorned many monuments at Mount Auburn. Rosebuds, lambs, grieving women, and angels were accompanied by sentimental inscriptions in marble. Join Meg L. Winslow, Curator of Historical Collections, for this special twilight walking tour to learn about the symbols and hidden meanings of Mount Auburn’s Victorian Funerary Art.
