Mount Auburn Cemetery is a place of inspiration and comfort to those who have experienced loss. In this creative writing workshop with Gail Mazur, we will look at how poets have written strong poems dealing with grief. We’ll talk about ways to make art, beyond the cry of pain, from the subject. Together, we’ll read and discuss poems inspired by grief, and talk about how the writer shapes a work out art. Then we’ll discuss poems written by the participants, and make new work! This workshop is for anyone interested in poetry, no experience necessary. Bring a writing instrument and journal. Meet in the Administration Conference Room in the Main Office Building, 4 week course. Limited enrollment; preregistration is required.

This is a 4 week course–Saturdays from 2-4pm. Dates below.

  • November 2nd

  • November 9th
